The medical database is adapted from Harrison’s and Merck and other reputable medical sources. The intent of the software is to map symptoms/signs/events and other keys to diagnosis (hints, tips, legal pitfalls). You can include a URL in the definition and the built-in browser it will take you to Merck professional or wherever else you point it.

From a Selection List of highly specific symptoms/signs/events (over 12,000) select items that form the inquiry. Click on the doctor’s icon. A shortlist of the most likely is shown. You can select relevant history and that alters the results.

After you double click on the download file in order to install, if you receive a message saying Windows blocked this application or similar, select ‘more information’ then click Run Anyway. You may need to do this also when the download is started and blocked.

At installation choose the spelling you prefer, Australian/British or International English. Explain in the Environment Setup window if you have a 64 bit or 32 bit computer (the latter becoming rarer) else the Windows installer will not find the files it needs to install. Once alive, specify in the Country/Region field where you are located. On first installation you will have to wait for the Compilation Matrix to be build.

* Medicine is an extremely specialized field. That’s where expert reasoning medical software such as 5GL-Doctor comes into its own. Forget doctor Google. Lots of personal information is required to form a good short list of the likely diseases/conditions. When interacting with 5GL-Doctor, it can be like interacting with an expert doctor.

* In-built and reasonably large medical dictionary allows you to mark a word and ask for its meaning. Contains images to bring you up to speed.

* For Personal Users you can click on a body part to obtain a list of specific symptoms/signs/events that may impact that part of the body. Select, such become part of an inquiry, and a high AI reasoning process formulates a short list of likely medical conditions (diseases)

* In 5GL-Doctor a medical condition is associated with a symptoms/signs/events pattern. AI enhanced pattern matching, including taking patient history into consideration, make it possible for excellent presumptive diagnosis.
