5GL-Doctor ES. A Medical Diagnosis Aid/Expert System for Windows. It comes with a very large database of over 12,000 symptoms and signs and events. If you are a medical professional then it is up to you to tailor the decision making and the database to suit your career and practice and clinic.
Your database, if you choose to adapt the supplied one, can be installed on other computers in your business. 5GL-Doctor is a differential diagnosis tool and medical information management tool. You can even design medical algorithms (a few included, e.g. from Harrison’s an algorithm for interpretation of abnormal movements).
5GL-Doctor is an Expert System. The symptoms/signs/events Selection List is over 12,000 specific items for your inquiry. This results in a list of probable/possible conditions (a DDX list; a differential diagnosis list). Drugs and tests included. Also ‘Brain/Mental Concerns Analysis’. Given adequate information, one of the top entries is most likely the ultimate diagnosis.
If using Windows in S mode you need to switch out of S mode to install 5GL-Doctor. The database is inside the software. Put together from the best medical sources. There is an option to ‘Download Databases’ but that is only for those who define their own. You don’t need an Internet connection unless you are linking to an external source. While the software will work on a 28 cm (11 inches) display - a larger one is better. If you plan to modify the databases see ‘Keep a backup’ in Documentation. The software is extensive. You may never use some functions. Because 5GL-Doctor is also aimed at the personal user, it uses simple symptom/sign descriptions (these are mapped onto medical terms). Once active, go into Analysis 1 and click OK to a build a Compilation Matrix (an internal ‘universe’ of specific ‘universes’ (e.g. Heart, Kidney) and connections to a symptom/event).
Download. Double-click on the downloaded file. If you receive a message saying Windows (or browser on download) blocked this application, select ‘more information’ then ‘Keep Anyway’ and later ‘Run Anyway ‘. The publisher is 5GL Software - but unless Microsoft is paid to place software in their Microsoft Store, this will appear as ‘unknown publisher’. Start 5GL-Doctor. Choose preferred spelling (USA or Australian/British). For download site enter this site “http://www.5gldoctor.com”. A unique code is generated. First pay (click on the PayPal button) then email the unique code to receive an activation code. This is an annual license. At the end of 12-14 months the software asks if you wish to renew. Take a note of this page to pay after the software installs.

While the included database is extensive, nevertheless if you are a medical practitioner then it is up to you to add or modify. You can even associate a question with a symptom/sign/event. You can search, even a complex search which is an analysis in its own right, the database for exactly what you want.
